Thanks to Helen Steiner Rice (1900-1981), for writing this inspirational piece, and to my good friend Robin, who introduced it to me.
The 10 Commandments of Optimism
- Though shalt be happy.
- Though shalt use thy talents to make others glad.
- Though shalt rise above defeat and trouble.
- Though shalt look upon each day as a new day.
- Though shalt always do thy best and leave the rest to God.
- Though shalt not waste thy time and energy in useless worry.
- Though shalt look only on the bright side of life.
- Though shalt not be afraid of tomorrow.
- Though shalt have a kind word and a kind deed for everyone.
- Though shalt say every morning - I am a child of God and nothing can hurt me.
